Buy earpods lightning or the 3.5 mm adapter?

Hello,

I am a soon-to-be happy owner of an iPhone 13 mini :) , but I have a brand new pair of Apple earpods received as a gift a couple of months ago, which I can definitely keep using.

My question is whether it is better to buy the dedicated Apple 3.5 mm adapter and use it on my earbuds or buy a pair of new earbuds lightning? Is there any difference in sound quality between the two (earpods jack + lightning adapter vs. earpods lightning) ?

Hello Valentina Gioppo,

There is very little to no difference. The 3.5mm Adapter simply converts the 3.5mm input.

Buy the adapter. Then when your Earbuds die you can buy a good pair of headphones.

You apparently are careful with your equipment, you should have no issue with the adapter.

Thank you :) That clarifies it. Is there any risk of sound interference or noises due to the actual use of two cables : the earpods + the adapter cable?

Also I am worried about durability...is the cable durable with normal use or could it break more easily than the earpods cable? For the record I have had several Apple earphones and never had any cable wear and tear with my use.

Well yes the earpods are certainly low-end, but honestly they are a good value for the price and since I use them exclusively to listen to music while out or talk on the phone (not to listen to music at home where I have better ones), they do the job egregiously and they seem to be the only ones that fit my ears comfortably as I can´t stand in-ear buds...
