Can’t update OS on older iMac

I am trying to update my 2013 27” iMac to Catalina. Have tried twice and it gets stuck both times. Have had to start using recovery to get back to Mojave. Is it possible Catalina is not compatible with my Mac?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.14

macOS Catalina is compatible with your Mac. What error do you see? Did you get macOS Catalina from How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support?
