Can’t find messages or backed up messages from iCloud
iCloud backup has no icon for text messages,

You cannot view individual data in a iCloud or iTunes backup. You can only restore all data or none. If you are using iCloud Messages, your Messages are not in your backup, then are in iCloud. All you need to do is turn on Messages if you have a new device.
