Apps Privacy Report - Showing apps accessing content I didn’t initiate

I started looking through the Privacy button in Settings on an iPhone and found the Apps Privacy Report. I was surprised to see apps at the top of the list accessing other apps and data that I never touched during that time for instance, the Apple Health app showed that it had just accessed my contacts by the report. Um, why? As I dig deeper, I found out that it does that all the time and I don’t use it, so

what are they looking for in my Contacts?

Check out the screenshots below. The first one shows the list and I DiD access all the others, just not HEALTH. The second shows how many times lately Apple Health used my Contacts (and I don’t even use it)…that’s crazy!!

Third photos show the list of apps while I was using Health….how could Weather and Google Maps be accessing more sections of my phone without me even engaging with them in the background?!?!

Am I reading this **** chart wrong? Please help or explain if you can? Thanks in advance.

Hello Addaboy,

Let's start by making sure your iPhone is up to date using the steps below:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 14.8 or iOS 15.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

You can also find those steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your iPhone is already up to date, does that behavior persist after restarting your iPhone? Restart your iPhone

Those steps should help to further isolate a software conflict.

Should that still persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact Apple Support They'd be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.
