Transfer cellular plan

On my iPhone 13 pro max, I am transferring to a new phone company. Under my cellular data do I need to delete the previous phone plan?

Hi ihandley1994,

You started from an excellent resource: Transfer or convert your current SIM to an eSIM on your new iPhone

You can delete a previous eSIM, or simply turn it off using the steps in the article here: About eSIM on iPhone

Specifically the steps that state:

"If you need to erase your eSIM, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data.
  3. Tap the plan you want to erase.
  4. Tap Remove Cellular Plan."

Erasing would be best if you never plan on using the eSIM for that company again. If you're traveling or only temporarily switching companies, turning it off may better fit your needs.

Also, iIf your iPhone is unlocked, you can subscribe to several cellular plans. You can find more information here: Using Dual SIM with an eSIM

If you don't delete the previous carrier the article above will help ensure you have the correct numbers/account selected. Specifically in the section "Change your cellular data number" and "Manage cellular settings."

Hope the information helps.

Cheers!
