in spite of the fact my IPhone continues to show under Subscriptions: “MLBtv
I think the subscription has already been canceled. The word 'active' means you can reactivate if you change your mind.
FYI: You cannot delete a subscription that you have canceled.
This will disappear from your purchases after about a year.
But you can hide the subscription history, see -> Hide purchases from the App Store

Thanks, Eric. I’ve spent considerable time on this. Under Settings I go to Apple ID, then to Subscriptions. There it is shown: MLBtv “Active”. I click on it and no provision follows for me to Cancel. I’ve since called Apple and was told they show that the subscription in question has been canceled, in spite of the fact my IPhone continues to show it to be “Active”. I’ll watch it, hoping it’ll “self-
destruct” SOON. Again, thanks.
Thanks, Raicya. I’ve since called Apple and, hopefully, have it resolved. They tell me they show it to be canceled, in spite of the fact my IPhone continues to show under Subscriptions: “MLBtv - Active”. I will follow, hoping soon to see the subscription no longer appears on my phone.
