New captive wifi sign in not working for me...

I've been dragging around a travel router to bypass hotel captive wifi sign in. It works fine.


This morning (in a hotel) I got a prompt that the OS had upgraded and that captive portals are supported. Yea. The problem for me is that all my smart house stuff is run on another Apple ID that is a "child" of mine in my family.


The sign in seems to require an iphone or iPad logged in to the Apple TV user. Added my phone apple user as a TV user and switched to that account, but got no prompts to continue on the phone. Also tried adding TV Apple ID user to phone (just for notes and iCloud mail), but TV did not prompt for sign in. 


Any successes for people or reccos?

We have guidance that can show you how to connect to captive Wi-Fi networks:



1. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Tap the name of the network, then wait for a login screen to appear. Or tap  next to the network's name, then tap Join Network.
3. If prompted, enter a user name and password, enter an email address, or acknowledge terms and conditions.



This information is from Use captive Wi-Fi networks on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.


If you still can't connect, use these steps on your Apple TV:


Many hotels and other institutions have captive Wi-Fi networks that require sign in from a web browser. Follow the instructions below to join a captive network on your Apple TV using an iOS or iPadOS device.
1. Open Settings Settings on Apple TV.
2. Select Network, then select Wi-Fi and choose an available network.
If Apple TV detects a captive network, a screen appears with options.
3. Select Continue on iPhone or iPad.
4. On your iOS or iPadOS device, follow the onscreen instructions to enter the required information, such as username and password.

Some captive networks have time limits for staying connected. If your connection expires, follow the steps above again to reconnect.
