Lightning hdmi cable with iPhone and projector

Why does my apple lightning hdmi cable adapter work on my projector but not when I try to watch my Amazon video or Netflix account thru my iPhone 12 with all the current updates still not working?

Why is my HDMI adapter not working? I just bought a HDMI adapter but it does not work. I got the message from the projector about HDCP - but I am not trying to project a streaming app. I'm using a drawing app (Procreate- also up to date). have an iPad pro (Model A1584) OS is up to date 15.4.1. I bought the adapter recommended for my model. Do I need a different adapter?

It's up to the developers of the app what they allow you to do with their content.

Seems like Netflix and Amazon are not allowing you to output it to a projector.
