My Apple ID randomly told me to update my payment and subscriptions method, however this is the same card that’s always been on file. Anyways, I updated the method but it will not save. So I added another method - PayPal but that does not work either. I am confused because both of these methods will allow these purchases, why isn’t it working?

Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit your Apple ID details.
On the Sidebar click Payment methods -> then tap Payments Methods and tap Manage payment method.
