Remove original photos after editing from iPhone

Regarding photos. After a photo is edited, it creates a new file with "E" in the file name. How can I delete the original photo (a non "E" file) so that it doesn't come over when I transfer photos to a PC? Thank you.

iPhone 13, iOS 15

The Photos.app does not allow to remove the originals, it has been designed to support a lossless workflow, where we always can revert to the original. This is useful, if we should later no longer like our edits and want to try again.

If you want to discard the original, you have to save the edited version for example in Files, then delete the photo from Photos, including from Recently Deleted, and then save the saved edited version back to Photos.
