Texting after IOS 15.4.1

After updating to IOS 15.4.1 I can not send or receive text messages to android phones. My husband has the same phone and update and he can. I’ve tried everything you already have posted and noting is correcting it. What can I do to fix this?

Yep! It is an Apple problem. I resolved my issue by a trip to the Apple Genius Bar.

  1. First, we moved my SIM to another phone and miraculously texts started working.
  2. So, we wiped out my iPhone XR and reloaded the OS and restored all my backed up data...it's working now. But what a pain.

Apple needs to fix this!

Iphone 11 Pro Max - Verizon

Ios 15.4.1

Thursday May 12th, all was fine.

Friday, May 13th, some goup text messages failing to send and receive texts. Some individual texts not sending out. When texts did fail there were android users on the thread.

I think I fixed mine. Still monitoring but so far new messages are going out and coming in to the same groups and individuals that were failing.

Toggle to airplane mode. Shut down. Restart. Toggle airplane mode off. Shut down. Restart.

I gave my phone a few minutes before testing but it seems to have ironed itself out. I am still missing the texts which I didn't get earlier, but new messages are coming and going fine. (Knock on Wood)

~cheers~

It took nearly 3 hours to get the new phone setup at the store and... the problem was the same. I spent more time trying to get through to T-Mobile support (who had already closed my ticket) and discuss next steps. Eventually it was suggested that we try a new SIM card as well. Back to the store I went and to my surprise, the new phone started working with a new SIM card. No idea if the old phone would have worked with a new SIM card or what it was about the iOS update that caused it to stop working. What I can say is that with a new phone AND new SIM card I'm functional again. The other thing I notice is that I was also missing some voicemail messages, so it seems the problem also impacted voicemail. Many hours wasted, lots of frustration. Thanks Apple!

After updating to iOS 15.4.1, both our 11 Pro iPhones, and our 4 iPads, cannot iMessage either to see received messages or to send new ones. The app opens only to a blank white screen.

all these devices worked perfectly prior to the iOS update.

we have gone through every “fix” in the book, including while on-line with Apple support. Even did a reset of network settings, and a restore of the 15.4.1 update while connected to our iMac.

Our phone service carrier AT&T refreshed signals to both phones several times, they found no problems with our cellular service.

Our internet works fine as well, and the problem persists whether we are home or away from home.

also occasionally we get the same blank white screen when try to use the phone to answer or make a phone call.

None of these issues existed prior to the iOS 15.4.1 update.

Highly unlikely that 6 separate devices (2 phones & 4 iPads) which worked just fine prior to the same iOS update would suddenly fail right after — this must be something caused by the iOS 15.4.1 update.

Very frustrating

After upgrading to iOS 15.4.1, I am unable to receive any text messages. This is very problematic because I cannot receive authentication numbers from web sites that want to send me a text of numbers to verify my identity. I can send to other devices, I just can't receive. I spent 60 minutes on a call with AT&T tech support and they were unable to fix the problem. A ticket was opened with a higher department and they said they would get back to me within 5 days. During our initial debug session, we restarted the phone several times, re-activated the phone, tried sending various messages. The one that did get something back was sending "test" to 611 which immediately responded saying "Customer support via texts to 611 is not available." This is a real problem.

Same issue! I can’t send to a group if there is an android in the mix. I can text an individual android…but text only, not pictures. Countless hours on the phone with apple who claim it is an AT&T issue. More hours with AT&T tech support who can’t find the solution. Now my friend is having the same issue yet she is on Verizon. IT IS AN APPLE PROBLEM. They need to fix this!!!

I’ve tried all the solutions discussed in this thread and none have worked. My carrier’s tech support has been trying all day to figure out the issue. They’re supposed to get back to me in a day or two. Here’s hoping they figure it out.

Hoping at this time that no one’s been trying to send me something important. Already had to do some damage control when someone thought I was ignoring them. :/
