Hello, we have Apple TV and it works on our cell phone and iPad. We are unable to cast it to our Samsung television. When we go to the phones remote Control app, the TV does not come up as an option to select under devices. We lost the remote control for the Apple TV device. We thought we would be able to use the remote control on the phone. Regardless we are unable to cast what we see on our phone onto the television. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Below is a link that shows current TV's that support the AirPlay 2 which is what you need to send from your iPhone or iPad to your Samsung TV. If you do not own a Samsung that supports Airplay 2 then you need to buy an Apple TV or some other device that does support Airplay 2 and connect it to your Samsung, I'd recommend the Apple TV 4K model.

Thank you for this info. We have Apple TV 4K model A84. We just can’t control it with our phones and don’t have a remote. Have tried for hours…
Sorry model is A1842
If you cannot locate the remote then you need to replace it. You cannot program the iPhone without the remote.
You can buy a replacement from Amazon or directly from Apple.
