How to change default apps on Apple CarPlay?

I just got a car that finally supports apple carplay, I was pleasantly surprised to see my Youtube Music there instead of the default Music app, but I can’t seem to find how to change the messenger app to WhatsApp. Is there any way to do this? I really don’t use the messenger app and I’ve tried putting it at the bottom of the list on the apple carplay settings but that didn’t work. Please help. Or, Apple, please let us change this in the near future!
