basically when I’m typing. My phone misses a lot of letters. Misses touches. And feels really blocky while typing.
brand new phone.
on the other hand my iPhone XR has no screen protector and doesn’t skip a beat.

Screen Protector is the Culprit:
Yes. This screen protector can cause bubbles to be created, and as a for swiping to be cut out. So, use Liquid Armor or Liquid Nano. You find these at local retailers.

Using Screen Protection:
One thing to consider is using Liquid Armor on it. Thing is, I'm not so certain if adding a screen protector would cancel your AppleCare protection for it or not. So, ask Apple Support if placing it on it would cancel AppleCare, prior to placing it on the phone.
