Ok I have family sharing with my kids, spouse and father. I pay for my kids purchases, but my spouse and dad would prefer to pay for their purchases.
How can I split off my adult family from making payments with my funds? Or is it "all or none"? Because I'm getting all my dad's charges now. But he is not listed in my "Purchase Sharing" list. Just like I didn't enable "Screen Time" or "Ask to Buy" on my dad (lol).

Seem paternalistic and old fashioned to assume only one person in a family can be a breadwinner and graciously pay for all the family's purchases. Not all families are stuck in the 1950s. Sure, some groups of "not" families might abuse the policy, but not all families look like the ones in story books.

We're not supposed to speculate here, but I think the issue of not families sharing their cost is more important to Apple and their commercial partners than convenience. Your spouse and dad can add store credit to their accounts which would normally be charged ahead of your payment method. Thanks, sorry, I did veer in to a rant. It still seems like non-nonsensical definitions, the cost is paid regardless of who pays it.
But there should be some level autonomy/privacy for others in the family organization if they choose.
