Can't remember Mac Mini user name and password

I have a Mac Mini that I haven't used in several years. Recently my son decided he would like to use it and when he powered it on, I couldn't remember the user name or password to login to the computer. Is there anyway to retreive the username and password so that the computer is usable again?
