FCP crashes at startup

Hi Guys/Girls,

Need some help. As of yesterday FCP (10.6) started crashing when starting up. I then get the 'FCP quit unexpectedly' screen with a detailed report (don't know how I should share it here without sharing too much details)?

I don't know if it's a coincidence but yesterday there was also a new OS update (minor one). Don't know if that would have been the cause.

I already tried the 'delete preference' + reboot suggestion made on other similar threads, did not help.

I am using a MacBook Pro 14 inch '21 with M1 Pro chip and 16 GB ram. Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1 is running on it.

Hope I can get feedback or fix suggesttions.

Are you still using 10.6?

10.6.1 has been around for quite some time and fixed a number of bugs in 10.6; and 10.6.2 has just been released.

I’d try updating FCP.

If the problem persists please run Etrecheck and post its full report here.

Chrome is a serious cause of many problems. It and it's keystone launch daemons need to 
be removed

See https://chromeisbad.com for why this is, and how to remove them completely. After 
removing them you will need to delete and reinstall FCP.

Also I notice you're running the Pro Video Formats update, 2.2.3, but not the FCP update. I don't think that matters, but usually you don't get the Pro Video Formats update until after you install the application updates.

Perfect, thank you Tom. This solved my issue. Being a fan of Chrome I did reinstall it after FCP was reinstalled though. Just hope it will hold this way. Glad to know what caused the issue. Thank you!
