Airplay not always working

Why is Airplay from one iMac running Big Sur to a new M1 MacBook Pro running Monterey only working sometimes? After a restart of the M1 it works for a few hours again but after going to sleep of just not use it for awhile its not working when I want to use it again. Audio streams perfectly from the iMac to the M1 Macbook via Airplay but there is no sound at all. Been this way since the feature was introduced. Same crap happens if I do the same from a new iPad running latest iPadOS to the Macbook. So its not the iMac. Any solution?

Hello cpt_henke,

If you're experiencing an issue with audio when using AirPlay, please check out the information from this link: If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device

If you see video but don't hear audio

If you don't hear audio when streaming video from your iOS device or Mac to your Apple TV, make sure that the volume is turned up and not muted on both your iOS device and your television or receiver.

If you're streaming video from an iPhone or iPad, check the Ring/Silent switch. If it's set to silent, you'll see an orange line. Toggle the switch to turn on the ringer.

For more information using AirPlay with your Mac, please check out this link: Stream audio and video from your Mac with AirPlay

Take care!
