All cell phones have SIM cards. They are the link between your phone and the cellular network, and identify your phone to the network. It isn’t clear what kind of “locked” you are referring to.

A phone (not the SIM card) can be locked to a carrier, meaning you can only use SIM cards issued by that carrier. If your phone is carrier locked when you insert a SIM card for a different carrier it will display an “Invalid SIM” message.

The other type of lock: A SIM card itself can has a passcode, so if it is stolen the thief can’t use it. You need to know the passcode to use that SIM card.

Which of these is your issue?
