Why is the migration taking so long?
That's at least 200 hours too long. I'd contact Apple and have them talk you through it, or provide suggestions. Be advised they are going to refer you to Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support which you already know about, so you might as well be prepared to tell them you reviewed it already.
Complimentary support for concerns such as yours is included with the purchase of a new Mac.

There is a lot of content to move. It's not unusual for it to take the better part of a day, and that assumes ideal wireless environmental conditions (assuming you are doing it wirelessly).
Yes there was a lot of content. On the new Mac it said 252 hours :0!! Is there a faster way to transfer?? I was doing it wireless
