Tony the search box is not missing, it is hidden. Please follow the steps below:
If you continue to have a problem, phone AppleCare and they will be able to help you out. Please use AppleCare Contact Info to find the phone number in your area.

Thank you for the response.
Unfortunately, on the iMac, the address field is missing, on my MacBook Pro, the address field is there!
the MacBook has Safari version 15.1, the iMac has version 15.4.

The problem is, I don’t know where it’s hidden so, it’s missing!
Cmd+i is doing nothing
cmd+I does nothing.
CMD+l (lower case) does nothing.
Cmd +L(upper case) opens an index page but no search box or address bar. 😠
Brilliant! Thank you….✅ The wife wants you on speed dial now! 😂🤣
Safari 15.4 has integrated the search box and the address field. Enter your search string there, and you should be good to go.

My wife (who uses the iMac far more than I) says Cmd+I takes her to email? 🤔
That is an "L", not an "I".
It is not I as in IVAN it is L as in Lattitude.
Cmd+l (lower case) does nothing.
cmd+L (upper case) opens an index page at l/h/s. Still no address bar….. 😠
Try this…
From the Safari "View" menu, select "Customize Toolbar…" and drag the default set into the toolbar.
You're welcome.
