Messages fails when starting on iMac. PLEASE HELP URGENT!!

I made the mistake of changing the FONT on messages and now it no longer will start!

I have tried deleting a hidden file, rebooting in safe mode, etc., everything I could find online.

Most help answers say you have to open the app, then select preferences, WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE!

There is no way to reinstall, uninstall, etc...

Here is what happens, a windows opens stating...

Messages quit unexpectedly.

Click Reopen to open the application again.

Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.

Then there are options to:

Reopen (doesn't work)

Report (see below to see the report)

Ignore (doesn't work)
