Jian3917,
To clarify, the 2018 MacBook Pro only support 60 Hz refresh rate with external displays. You can check out the technical specifications below, depending on which model you use. Check the "Video Support" section for details:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) - Technical Specifications
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) - Technical Specifications
We hope this answers your question. Have a good one.
It happens on all 120fps videos. Just find a 120fps video and play on your own mac, you'll see it, and 120fps video plays well on Ipad Pro which has a 120Hz display panel. I'm not saying this is a problem of macbook as i understand the panel is 60Hz only, just want to ask if external 120Hz monitor can be a solution.
the Macbook can play 120fps video but it always plays the video in slow motion mode, the reason i guess is the macbook own screen is only 60Hz. so my question is if i connect an external 120Hz monitor, can i play the video in normal speed?
Hello Jian3917,
Thank you for reaching out about playing video to an external monitor. Any video that you are able to play on the Mac, should be able to be played on the external monitor.
Cheers!
Hey Jian3917,
Does this happen with only this specific video? Or are other videos affected?
We look forward to hearing back.
