Ask your Merchants, Banks and credit institutions. It's up to them to support the Apple Pay payment mechanism. Apple cannot force it on them.

Indian stores, Banks and Credit institutions have chosen to support Google and Samsung pay, but not yet Apple Pay.

There are MANY commercial, regulatory, and political aspects in the operations of any large multi-national corporation.

We are not privy to them, nor can we speculate as to “why, why-not, or when.”

We can all see that there are other densely-populated chunks of the globe w/o coverage - and other areas ARE bring added - but that’s about as far as we can go.

Apple cannot force anyone to adopt their system. That is not how it works. Would you like it if someone forced you use a system you don't want to use?

Stores, and Banks have to want to use it. It's not there, because they have not yet implemented the system. Apple does not get to just appear and in India and say to everyone: "Use it.. we, Apple order you to use our system!". It's a lot for work that needs to happen for the system to be used. Banks need to support the software, they need to be ale to process the transactions through it. Stores need to support the hardware. They need to have the Apple Pay compatible terminals.

Apple cannot simply snap their fingers and make it happen.
