Bluetooth Headphones/AirPods Pro audio gets muffled while joining a call on my MacBook

Whenever I join a Discord or Zoom call, my songs or videos playing in the background get muffled, I understand the OS is trying to put the AirPods in call mode. But is there any way I can avoid that and have normal audio levels for all applications?

Sound lagging when watching YouTube Dear all, When using AirPods 2019 with my MacBook Retina 2015 the sound lags behind the video. When using wired headphones the issue doesn't occur. I've tried resetting the BT module (CTRL+Option+click on the icon), unpairing and re-pairing the AirPods and I've tried enabling and re-enabling the codecs. None of my attempts could solve the issue. Does anyone have a solution for this annoying issue? Thanks in advance!

Cannot disable spatial audio on my MacBook (AirPods Pro)? When using my AirPods Pro, spatial audio is automatically permanently activated on my MacBook. As can be seen in the first image, its box is ticked but cannot be deselected for some reason. If I try to fix it using the Bluetooth system preferences (second image), there is no 'i' for information which I'm supposed to click on according to Google. There is nothing related to spatial audio to be found under 'Options'.
