Updating of 9 Year old iPad. My last update is iOS 12.5.5 and iPad does not accept new updates from gmail, etc.

Is it possible to get old IPad loaded by the newest iOS update ...

If you're running 12.5.5 there are no more upgrades available; the device is simply too old.
