Rosetta fail to install

I just purchased a Mac Studio with Final Cut Pro (which has been updated today). I want to burn a DVD from Final Cut Pro, and apparently that requires Rosetta. I went to the Help menu (several times, even after a restart) as directed, followed the prompts and the install failed. Any recommendations?

Can you tell us what were the indications that you would need Rosetta and how you proceeded to to try the install?

I have to say I find it surprising that Apple would not have recompiled the Create Disc application as a universal binary, but it is a possibility, especially since burning discs is something that is not much used anymore.

FWIW you can install Rosetta manually by typing the following command in Terminal:

/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta

We have some older folks in our church who do not follow our livestream so we burn DVDs for them if they are a shut-in.

I have an older MacMini that still runs iDVD, but with the new MacStudio I was trying to streamline my work process, so I tried to run "DVD" from the "Share" option in Final Cut Pro. It prompted me to install Rosetta from the Help menu in Final Cut Pro. I believe that some elements of Final Cut Pro are still written with script based on Intel chips and have not been updated to M1 chips.

I selected that option and followed the prompts and always got the "Installation Failed" screen.
