My screen turns blank too fast. How can I adjust this? I have gone to settings, general, auto-lock, and see that it says 2 min. I cannot adjust this number. My screen turns blank in 14 seconds. That’s not enough time to read a news article.

Disable Low Power Mode in Settings>Battery, then restart your iPad and test the autolock option.
