I am unable to update to Mojave on this computer

Catalina is newer than Mojave, so going to Mojave would be a downgrade. Is that what you're trying to do? Or are you asking about upgrading to Monterey? If that's the case, go to the Apple Menu > About This Mac to see exactly which Mac you have, then find out if it is compatible with Monterey here: macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers - Apple Support
