How to download icloud photos easily on my Mac

Dears,

it seems it is IMPOSSIBLE to download photos from iCloud to my Mac. First of all, I don't understand why the limit of 1000 items and no possibility of requesting full download in asynchronous way. Then, selecting 1000 items, the download fails a lot of times. Tried then with 500 items, successful with the first 500 but not starting at all for the second group of items!

Please don't propose to connect iCloud to the Mac because in my case it's not the solution, I just want to download pictures and it should be a very, very, very easy task.

Thanks.

Hey A101A112,

We'd be happy to help you get your photos downloaded to your Mac from iCloud. To do so, complete the following:

"On your Mac

  1. Open the Photos app.
  2. Choose Photos > Preferences.
  3. Select iCloud, then click Download Originals to this Mac."

You can also download them from iCloud.com if needed using the steps here:

"On your Mac or PC

  1. On iCloud.com, click Photos and select a photo or video. Hold the command key on your Mac or control key on your PC to select multiple photos or videos.
  2. Click and hold the download button the iCloud download icon in the upper corner of the window. If you want to download your photo or video as it was originally captured or imported, choose Unmodified Original. For JPEG or H.264 format — including edits, and even if it was originally in HEIF or HEVC format — choose Most Compatible.*
  3. Click Download.

If your photos download as a ZIP archive, learn how to uncompress the folder on your Mac or your PC. "

Take care!
