System data

Hi,

on my iPhone since I have 161gb space taken by system data.

I updated phone and there’s no problems with it.

but space is still taken.

how I can free this space?

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 15

I would ignore that because this system data will make room when you need more space on your iPhone. These are some cache and temporary files that will be erased by the system whenever you try to save more files.


You may --> Clear Other storage on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support (IN)

That is way to much taken for system data. Have you tried restoring from your backup? Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support


If that does not work you most likely have a corrupted file or files that the system can't read properly. You may need to do a restore as a new device and add back data until the problem recurs so you then know what file it is. Most often it will be a photo, video or music.
