I'm sorry it's confusing, but it's confusing me too. I'm not tech savvy at all so please bear with me? I'm trying to set up my new Mac and transfer my data. It tells me to use the Migration assistant. When it asks me to enter my password (which works every time when I enter it anywhere else), this prompt won't accept it. I am running High Sierra 10.13.6 which is clearly very old but that's the best my current Mac can handle. Here is a screen shot:
Your post is confusing. Either Mac will only accept its password.
Exactly where is the password not working? The panel that lists users and asks you to supply passwords to migrate their individual data?
Please follow the instructions in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant and your migration will be smooth, fast and flawless.
