SideCar moving screens at the same time

I got something weird started happening, I'm using a 12.9" Ipad Pro (4th Gen) as a SideCar to my 2020 13 Inch MacPro running BigSur (11.4) all good so far and they are both compatible.

I've been using this setup for over a year now and I was able to use the Ipad as an entirely independent screen but all of the sudden it started behaving so as an "Extension" of the screen I'm working with let me elaborate:

you know how using the 3 finger gesture or the Control + Left/Right arrow moves you through Desktops well if I do that both the mac and Ipad move at the same time.

If I create a new desktop on my Mac a new desktop shows up on the Ipad too (empty) but it shows up

If I delete the desktops on the Ipad the desktops on the Mac start Merging!

Its driving me crazy, I mean it works but it doesn't, how do I fix this?

Hello there CaptRomero,

There are different settings for the behaviors you're describing. Instead of having your iPad mirror what you have on your Mac's screen, you'll want to change these settings to use it as an extended desktop instead: Use one or more external displays with your Mac - Apple Support

"Note: You must be connected to a display to see these options.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Displays , then click Display Settings.
  2. Click the name of your display, then choose Extend Display from the pop-up menu."

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.
