Privacy Protection

When I tap download content in mail app, the rest of the content loads slowly but then almost immediately disappears, leaving only the text. That text keeps jumping on the screen which makes it hard to read, and I have to keep tapping if I want to download the whole message. I know I can turn the Privacy Protection off, but it seems useful and I’d like to keep it on and have it work so that once I tap Download the content would stay until I finish reading the email. Please help!

Greetings SeekerOfHelp,

It sounds as though you're using Mail Privacy Protection on your iPhone and with that feature enabled, you're unable to load all content in the email when the "Unable to load remote content privately" message appears. To confirm, are you having issues loading photos, attachments or other content of the email, but able to read the text without issue? If so, does the issue persists if you disable Mail Privacy Protection? If you're unsure, please disable this feature by going in to Settings > Mail > Privacy Protection, and tap the green toggle next to Protect Mail Activity to disable that feature. Once disabled, test to see if the issue persists.

If you continue to have issues after disabling that feature, you'll want to confirm you're running the latest iOS. You can update iOS by going in to Settings > General > Software Update, then tap Download and Install or Install Now. You can also find these steps in the following article.

Yes, I am using the Privacy Protection. I was under the impression that I would be able to download all content in a particular email that I trust by tapping the “download content” link on that email. But that does not work as I expected and explained in my first post. That is when the jumping starts, and when all settles down I still can’t see the entire message. I like the idea of the new protection, but as it is working now it does not allow me to read my entire email and I find that very frustrating. If I understand your reply I will have to turn off the security feature to read my entire email.

So I can either have the security or I can turn it off to see the whole email, but not both?
