I’m trying to get my HomePod online and I just can’t seem to get connected. I keep getting and error message 301014 for what ever reason. I’ve tried everything online and I can’t seem to get to work.

Is your Wi-Fi set up with WPA/WPA2 and with any client isolation feature turned off? See If you can't set up HomePod mini or HomePod - Apple Support for further advice.

I think client steering controls the use of dual radio bands, client/access point/wireless isolation/security and guest network settings allow clients access to the internet, but block peer-to-peer connections. HomePod needs peer-to-peer connectivity so shouldn't be configured on a guest network, or one with any isolation or similar option enabled. The exact name varies by manufacturer and model.

When you say client isolation I have a setting called client steering. Is this the same thing?
Fixed it! II had content blocking for my kids and once I turned that off it connected. My concern is if I turn that back on will it lock them up?
Could be, but perhaps you can add in some exceptions to fix that. Might take a bit of research to find out exactly what.
