When I select a picture in the Desktop picture pref pane, the pane shifts its display up about 15% and so crops off the top 15% of its area. This is on a Mac Studio Max running macOS 12.3.1. This does not occur on a late 2015 iMac using the same desktop picture files and also running 12.3.1. See attached example:

Thanks. The behaviour only occurs with some of my desktop pictures. It seems to be triggered when I choose a picture that is larger my 5K screen. But just now, I found I can't make it happen ! I've fiddled with pictures, display method and the folder list and no strange behaviour. All very odd. The Mac Studio seems to have bugs which come and go – for example, mine refused to go into sleep mode for 3 days last week then started behaving normally. No sleep mode reluctance since. I've not changed apps or done anything to affect sleep mode. It just went and came back.
This bug was not fixed in macOS 12.4. It occurs when the Desktop picture selected is an unusual shape e.g. 9894 × 4229 pixels.
