Google Chrome App not appearing in Security and Privacy list (camera, microphone) - ONE SOLUTION!

Hello!

I actually don't have a problem, but one solution, that I wanted to share.

I updated my Macbook to Mojave and Chrome was updated as well, but after that, Google Chrome app didn't appear in the Security and Privacy list anymore and Google Meets didn't ask for a permission, but rather sent me to the System Requirements to tick the checkbox in front of Google Chrome, which wasn't even on the apps list there.

Whoever has the same issue, when they go to System Requirements-Security and Privacy-Camera or Microphone and Google Chrome app isn't there, try this:

  1. Go to meet.google.com
  2. Start a new meeting/instant meeting with yourself
  3. If Google asks permission right away, great, if not, try this:
  4. Start sharing your screen from the screen button on the call
  5. It will guide you to Security and Privacy, on the Screen Recording tab - for me Google Chrome still wasn't on the list, but it allowed me to add an app from the + sign below and I added Google Chrome manually from my Applications list (my camera and microphone tabs did not have the + button to add)
  6. After this, I went back to my opened Google Meets call and now it did ask for permission to use the camera and microphone and after clicking on Allow, it added Google Chrome to it's responding lists as well.

Hopefully it works as easily for you as well!
