Trying to connect lightning SD card reader to iPad 10.2 8th Gen. Appears in both files app and photos app briefly before disconnecting. It then continues to connect/disconnect repeatedly. 128GB SDXC formatted exFAT. Working fine with a 2 GB standard SD formatted in FAT. Does same thing on multiple iPads with different versions of IOS.

As there are no issues connecting other accessories to the same port, along with the same issue occurring on other devices with the same adapter, this points towards the adapter as having the issue.

To help isolate the issue, does this occur with any other device you connect to your iPad or just Lightning to SD adapter? For instance, if you connect your iPad to the computer, is it disconnecting constantly? If not, it is possible there is an issue with the adapter. Is this an Apple branded adapter or a third-party adapter?
Also, have you tried restarting your device and making sure it is updated? Restarting your device and making sure it is updated can potentially resolve unexpected issues:

It is an Apple brand adapter.
Does this same thing on two iPads and iPhones. All up to date with newest IOS. No problem connecting devices to anything else.
The adapter did work with a 2gb SD FAT but not with the 128gb SDXC exFAT.
