Blocking spam email

Blocked email is NOT blocked using Apple mail even when blocked through settings. Is there a real solution? I called Apple support and they blamed the problem on Gmail, which is absurd.

I agree. I have set mine up the same way and it always responds the same as yours does. In fact the volume of unwanted emails is increasing daily and taking the time to “block” each one is time consuming and essentially worthless. I just delete from my keyboard w/o bothering anymore and it works just as well but takes less time in the end.
