Can I make Apple News less US-centric?

I'm a fan of Apple News as an aggregator, I have a few of my often-visited UK news sites in there (BBC, The Guardian, The Independent etc) but, increasingly it's returning more and more US-centric stories. even on the UK news sites like the Independent. I keep 'unliking' the US stories but I've no idea if this means less from that site will show, less of that kind of story or whether it will show less US items.

Is there a way to make my Apple News feed UK only or at least predominantly UK?

You can try following UK channels and topics only in Apple News, then navigate to Settings > News, and toggle on Restrict Stories in Today. Only stories from channels and topics you follow will appear in the Today feed and all other feeds.
