The private browsing mode is useful for shared devices - as all cached data and history associated with the browsing session is erased upon closing the browser window. As such, your browsing remains “private” and not seen by others.
When shopping for Christmas or Birthday gifts, someone sharing your device won’t discover what you’ve been researching or purchasing - preserving the “surprise”… 🙂
