"Seems like a lot of effort for little return."
Perhaps you do not understand the issue. It's not the length of time it takes to charge, it's the fact the iPad has changed it's behavior, for no apparent reason. Or, the iPad is not operating in it's intended manner. Obviously something is wrong and people would like to understand what.
Here's a rundown of my day. My Razr has been charged by my iPad charger since April. As of today, the iPad's charger can no longer charge the Moto. Later I went to charge my iPad. Normal sequence is to plug it in then turn it off. It's turned off since the first day I had it. Today, no way. It cycles back on within seconds of turning it off. I have tried the few suggestions posted to no avail.
If any of you have a second iPad charger, as well as the iPad's inability to shut down after being plugged in, please see if the problem persists on both chargers. This may be a charger issue as, in my case, the charger is the only common link between my devices and it's seems too coincidental that both devices would begin to operate abnormally, with a charging related issue, on the same day. I'm on the road and only have the one iPad charger with me.
