Can't access old flip videos nor find them in Photos?

I'm on Monterrey/MacMini M1 and just noticed that old Flipshare videos (MP4) are not playing, though they are appearing in Photos just fine. There is no 'play' option, yet we can see the length and appropriate file sizes.

How do we extract these to hopefully recover in another player (VLC?) in order to reconfigure for use in Photos? You know, the effects of old file format changes will become increasingly a problem as more people take a look at the 'oldies. These, for many, are some of the most valuable media inventory we ever had Apple. Kids, graduations, births...
