Why I can't apply transitions to clips?

Recently, I haven't been able to apply transitions to any clips that is stacked on top of the base clips on the main timeline. I don't even get the "There is not enough extra beyond clip edges" pop up anymore. Someone please help.

Make a selection to the clip/s you want and double click the desired transition to apply it.

In 10.6.2 you can no longer drag and drop transitions from the Transitions browser to connected clips, nor to replace a transition in the primary storyline. To apply a transition select the clip or edit point you want to add the transition to, then double click the transition in the browser that you want to add to the project.
