If your phone doesn’t appear in the Find My app, either your phone is dead/powered off, Find My iPhone is turned off on your iPhone, Location Services are off on your iPhone, or your phone doesn’t have an internet connection. The first one and the fourth one should have a last known location, however, so I think either Find My iPhone or Location Services are turned off on your device.

Once you find your phone, you can enable Find My iPhone by going to Settings, tapping your name at the top, then Find My > Find My iPhone > On. You will need an AppleID password for this. You can enable Location Services by going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > On.
