My recommendation is to 👉 setup Face ID so that you can use a face scan to unlock your iPhone. If you do not use a passcode/Face ID then you will also not be able to use several features. For example, making a purchased using Apple Pay. Your iPhone will also not be secure and anyone will be able to get in it. Bad idea.

Welcome to AppleWorld.

There’s always more to learn about Apple’s ecosystem and this is a great place to do so.

FYI, the passcode does more than just “limit access” to your phone …

… it is part of the encryption scheme which encrypts all of your data on your phone.

Even if you loose your phone, as long as your passcode is truly secret and difficult to guess … your data remains locked-up tight; inaccessible even to highly sophisticated criminals.

If you use FaceID, you generally only have to enter your passcode at startup and weekly thereafter.

This greatly eases the use of long - more secure - passcodes because you DON’T have to enter them very often; you normally “unlock” w/ just a quick glance at your screen.

Again, welcome to the forum.
