Macbook Pro doesn't connect to the wifi - 'can't find IP address'

I have a Macbook Pro and since getting a new router every time I wake up my mac or turn my mac on, it doesn't connect to my wifi properly. This doesn't happen with any other device in our home, so I reckon it must be a problem with my mac.

It attempts to connect, but 90% of the time I get that it can't find an IP address and then the other 10% it's that it's got a self assigned IP address. It sometimes asks to put my wifi password in but when I do it says it's incorrect (even though it isn't).

I've tried literally everything I can find on the internet. The only thing that works is turning my router on and off again and then it automatically connects.

Please help! It's driving me mad.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Did you check the macOS specific settings on your router?
