How to dim the display when using apple maps

Please, is it possible to let the apple maps dim the screen between directions.

I have read many complaints of user about dimming the screen when navigating.

In contrary, I find dimming the screen in navigation mode very handy. It saves the battery and the maps do not distract me between directions while driving.

I loved this feature in previous iPhones, now on iPhone 13 it seems, once the maps lit the screen, it remains on and does not dim again.

Can you help, please?
