Airdrop Not Sending/Receiving

I recently acquired a MacBook Pro 2015 to be part of my Apple ecosystem. Everything works great on it accept Airdrop. I am able to see my devices around me and my other devices can see my MacBook Pro but when trying to send or receive nothing happens. If I try and send a file from my Iphone it will try and send it and will sit there stating it is waiting but nothing appears on the Mac in the form of a Popup or no file appears in the downloads. I have turned off and on the WIFI and Bluetooth connections on all devices. I have also completed a hard reboot of each device. Firewall is turned off and Airdrop is set to everyone. I am at a loss of what is not working at this point.

Make sure macOS is completely up to date on your Mac and make sure iOS is completely up to date on your iPhone or iPad. If you missed just a single update, then it may prevent Air Drop from working (terrible design, and even worse design for not providing any status or error messages, or logs).

I think I had to do something else the last time Air Drop failed to work, but at the moment I cannot recall what I may have done to fix it.

If you just purchased a used Mac, then did you perform a clean install of macOS on it so that you have a known good copy of macOS? A clean install of macOS is critical on a used computer so that nothing of the previous owner remains since the previous owner may have all types of software installed and unknown configuration settings. A clean install is when you erase the whole physical drive (Intel Macs only) before reinstalling macOS. Of course erasing a drive destroys all data on the drive which is not backed up.

I always found airdrop to be a bit finicky, sometimes it worked sometime it did not with no rhyme or reason.

Sounds like you did everything to encourage it...try another day and compare your results.
