how do I keep my MacBook Air from going to sleep so quickly

Sleep will extend your battery's run time.


You can change it: System Preferences and click the Power or Battery icon. I'm not on my MBP right now and I don't remember the exact wording. But everything you do that keeps the battery supplying "operational" power levels will run it down faster.
